Emerica 'The Leo' skate shoe

The Leo is almost exactly like Leo Romero's first pro model shoe, but has a cupsole for extra padding, and comes with an extra stitched ollie box to give it a little extra durability when your shoe is grinding along that shoe slaying grip tape.  Another really cool feature about these is all the eyelets, so you can basically turn these into two other appendages, if you were a fan of the original Leo's you know what I'm talking about. You'll have to excuse any language in the video, but it's an awesome video that shows the true essence of skating just to get an idea of what Leo does all day. With how hard Leo shreds you KNOW his shoes have to be quality especially since they're coming from Emerica skate shoes.

Emerica Jinx skate shoe

The Emerica Jinx skate shoe, although it's not as pricy as other shoes, doesn't make it any less of a quality shoe (Had to say it, kids in the shop are getting to me.) Back on track though, the Jinx comes with a pretty decent arch support (which these days is hard to find) and EVA footbed. These are the first things I notice in a shoe since I have foot problems, but the shoe is pretty low profile, which if you're not a fan of bulky, goofy looking shoes, is about as thin as you're going to get without losing much needed padding. Much like all other Emerica shoes the rubber outsole is amazingly durable and will hold up whether you shred all day or burn your shoes out footbraking downhill, and I've never once had a problem with any of Emerica skate shoes soles falling out, the Jinx even comes in 4 colors so there's a somewhat decent selection to choose from and you like any of them, this shoe is an absolute steal for only $50, I would normally be paying $60-85 for a shoe like this.

Emerica the SZA skate shoe

 The SZA Emerica skate shoe has been one of our highest selling shoes for quite some time now, and I don't know why I haven't done a blog on it sooner. The best part of this shoe is that Szafranski really kept simplicity in mind but added some extra touches such as his zippered stash pocket and stylish straps all while keeping it as sleek and low profile as possible. Szafranski also knew a thing or two about comfort and had a level 3 STI foam padding thrown in this along with a full length polyurethane midsole, and super sleek design it's a trifecta of Durability, comfiness, and sexiness all in one.

Emerica Wino fusions

Emerica skate shoes came out with this awesome idea, and to be honest, I don't know why everyone hasn't done it. But the idea to fuse all of the components of the shoe into one was a truly ingenious idea, and makes the shoe way lighter, twice as flexible, and super durable compared to having stitches that can blow out. Although they're stitched they're actually fused and overlapped underneath so even if the stitching is torn you don't have to worry about your shoe falling apart. Along with Emerica's special STI foam footbed and a 400 NBS rubber outsole these shoes are not only comfy for just wearing around casually but are durable enough to hit the parks without fear of destroying your New Emerica Wino Fusions.

The 'crisper'

  So deep within the confines of  my 'crisper drawer' which is really just a file cabinet chalk full of silica packs I keep my shoes in. I came across of an old pair of Reynolds 3 skate shoes, and looking back I remember these being my go to shoe, I had multiple other pairs of practically brand new shoes but wore my Reynolds for EVERYTHING, skating, school, paintball, skating, I didn't even get dress shoes when I got my suit for formal, I just rocked my Reynolds, haha. Coming out the crisper, it definitely showed. I just recently got a pair of shoes but I'm trying my hardest to keep my low cuts good looking so I got these for skating since my others are pretty much burnt out. I grabbed a new pair of Reynolds from the shop 2 days back and I'm in love all over again.
These babies don't have stitch lines to blowout, a super thick collar, that help keeps my ankles from getting skinned up, and with all the padding, rough landings are a thing of the past, and with the heel cushion, oh, the heel cushion. I can't tell you how many days I've spent limping home with a bruised heel from stair sets that can set me back a day or two simply because I can't even stand the next morning from such mutilated heels. But the Reynolds along with my special insoles ( my SPECIAL insoles alone can't even keep my heels cushioned enough to stop heel bruising all together but I've noticed since my Reynolds I've had nothing but mild heel pains every now and then, but for the most part it's virtually non-existant now. Man, I could really talk about these shoes all day but I'm going to stop now and say that these are easily one of my top 3 shoes, they're amazingly durable, extremely comfortable, and crazy stylish and low profile for how padded they are. If you don't have a pair, then you're missing out. Emerica skate shoes really killed it on this one.

So after a long day of pressing bearings, moving and taking inventory, vacuuming the shop, gripping boards, cleaning glass...I could go on but I'll spare you the read. A customer came in looking for a pair of Emerica skate shoes and when I went into the back and found a dusty pair of fresh Jerry Hsu's old pro model shoes not the new low cuts but, the old, stylish, ankle saving mid tops. Now I'm not the kinda guy that can pull off mid tops but I asked my boss if I could get them cheap since they've been sitting in the back of the shop for so long and I've had a pair way back in the day, but man, I forgot just how amazingly comfortable these shoes are! After skating them for a week or so, I just had to have the low cut version, so I could actually wear them in public, haha. What I love about the low cuts, is they didn't change a thing, just made it a bit slimmer, narrower, and cut the collar down a bit, on the downside there's only 1 pair of the mid tops left, but if you like a slimmer, sleeker shoe, the low tops are available in multiple sizes. Also! I just recently found out we carry HSU 2 fusions which are basically the same as the mid tops but all of the components of the shoe are fused together instead of layered to create an unbreakable bond for a lighter, more durable, and flexible shoe, and coming from someone that's ridden at least 4 pair of HSU's into the ground I can only expect great things from the HSU 2's.
